Swimming

Discover Kitzbühel's large selection of aquatic recreational activities. Schwarzsee lake, located between Kitzbühel and Reith, is one of the most beautiful and warmest swimming lakes in the Alps. Thanks to its high mud content, this lake warms up quickly in the spring, thus making its soothing and relaxing effects easily accessible early on in the year. We also recommend Gieringer Weiher, another mud lake, the covered water park Aquarena and the swimming pool in the Jochberg woods.

Thanks to this major international event, Kitzbühel joined the ranks of large cities and Olympic Game host cities such as Sydney, Beijing, Madrid, London and Hamburg for the second time. Since the early days of the triathlon boom in the 1980s, Kitzbühel had already been on the forefront of this development. This tradition continues to this day, especially thanks to Kitzbühel's support of up-and coming young triathletes.
